Sister Helen Martin (Mary St. Laura), 92, of Regina, Sask., passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999.
Born in Portage La Prairie, Man., she was predeceased by her parents; and two sisters, Anna Cummings, and Rose (Sister Mary St. Aselle).
Helen is survived by her sisters, Eula (Ervine) Klein of Troy, Mich., and Josephine (Joseph) Lavoie of San Bruno, Cal.; five nieces and one nephew; and Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions.
Helen was a teacher for 48 years. She taught in Fort Frances and Sioux Lookout, Ont. as well as St. Edward’s, Winnipeg, and Letellier, Man. She retired to Fort Frances in 1974 and came to live at Santa Maria Nursing Home in Regina in 1998.
Prayers were held Friday, Dec. 17, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. in Santa Maria Nursing Home, 4215 Regina Ave., Regina, Sask.
Funeral mass was held Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999 at 9:30 a.m. in Santa Maria Nursing Home, with Rev. John Riffel officiating.
Interment was in Riverside Memorial Park.
