PEARL CAMPBELL

Pearl Campbell, 105, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at her residence Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999.
She was born June 10, 1894 in Fairbury, Neb., the daughter of the late George and Sarah Parker. At age nine, she moved with her family to Dauphin, Man. and was raised and educated in the Dauphin area, and attended Winnipeg Normal School in 1909.
She married Harold Campbell in Dauphin on Oct. 16, 1911. They farmed in the Kenville area for a number of years, then in 1924 moved to Fort Frances, where they raised their family.
Pearl was the librarian at the Fort Frances Public Library for many years, until her retirement in 1963.
During her years in Fort Frances, Mrs. Campbell was a dedicated community and church worker. At age 90, she was still assisting with the “Meals on Wheels” program.
Pearl is survived by two daughters, Madge Littlefield of Burlington, and Elma Hunter of Thunder Bay; one son, Ken of Chemainus, B.C.; and one son-in-law, Elder Jack of Emo, Ont.
She also is survived by 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Craik of Winnipeg, Man.; and by several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was predeceased by her husband, Harold in 1962; daughters, Jean Jack and Verna Hyatt; son, Don; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Campbell; and sons-in-law, James Hunter and Aldon Littlefield.
She also was predeceased by two sisters, Emma Morgan and Anne Parker; brother, Fred Parker; and a great-granddaughter, Courtney Littlefield.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Jeraldine Bjornson officiated, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Visitation was held prior to funeral services Wednesday afternoon at Green Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Larry Jack, Melvin Jack, Chad Jack, and Shane McDonald.
