It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Olga Dawkins (nee Bodnar) on July 9, 2019 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with loving family by her side.

At the age of 11, her family moved to Alberton, Ont., where she grew up helping on the family farm.

Olga graduated from the La Verendrye Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 with her RNA diploma and worked for many years in both La Verendrye and Emo Hospitals.

She took great pride in her home and her beautiful flower beds.

Left to mourn her passing are her sisters, Ann Cain, and husband, Raymond; Evelyn Myers, and husband, Frank; Eleanor Johanson, husband, John (Steve); brothers, Edward, Marvin, Norman, and his wife, Lecea; sisters-in-law, Lillian Bodnar, Doreen Bodnar, Edith Bodnar, Cheryl Bodnar, Kathy Brigham and husband, Ed, and Ruth-Ann Agostino and husband, Tony; brother-in-law, Rod Swire, and wife, Penny; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Olga was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Michael, William, John and Paul; sister-in-law, Helen Bodnar; in-laws, Lorraine and Gus Swire, and first husband, Dwaine Dawkins.

As per Olga's wishes there will be no service.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment service for family will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Olga can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

far beneath the bitter snows,

Lies the seed,

That with the sun's love

In the spring

Becomes the rose"
