With heavy hearts, the family of Larry Dale Angus announces his passing on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.

Larry was born on Nov. 19, 1942 to Derward and Helma Angus.

He was an avid fisherman who knew Mainville Lake like the back of his hand. He loved to share his favourite fishing holes with friends and fishermen. Many of his friends and family joined him and Bev for shore lunches on the lake or fish fries at their home.

He opened his home and his heart to everyone.

Larry was an active member in the A.A. program and the Zion Lutheran Church. For many years, he enjoyed curling and also was a dedicated fan of the Fort Frances Lakers.

Larry worked at the paper mill for more than 37 years and was the Pulp Mill Superintendent when he retired. Retirement brought relaxation time, and he and Bev enjoyed the sunshine, good times, and made lasting friends in Florida.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bev; children, Rodney and Lara; stepson, Justin Hupet; and grandchildren, Maddisyn, Myla, and Nikolas.

He also will be remembered by very special family friends, Tom and Joan Foley.

Larry also is survived by his sister, Merle Warner; brother, Don (Sharon); in-laws, Sheila (Don) Anness, Sheldon (Susan) Skirten, Ray Skirten, Wayne (Shirley) Skirten, Ruby (Jack) Johnson, Roger (Kathy) Skirten, Linda Chepil, and Sandy (Carolyn) Skirten; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant son, Christopher; sister, Marion (Bill) Reese; mother- and father in-law, Irene and Art Skirten; brothers-in-law, Richard (Nadine) Skirten, Bill Miller, and Alan Warner; and sister-in-law, Linda Skirten.

Larry was loyal and a helpful person with strong integrity. He was a good man. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Frances, Ont., with Rev. Brian Keffer officiating.

If desired, in memoriam donations can be made to the Tamarack House, 984 Oliver Rd., Thunder Bay, Ont., P7B 7C7 or the Zion Lutheran Church, 1105 Scott St., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 1J7.
