Saddened by the loss, but in celebration of a beautiful life, the family of Jean Ruth Harris announce the passing of a beloved wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother at 91 years of age, on Sept. 25, 2019.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Don, of 33 years, with his passing in 1982; her parents, Grace and Don Westover; siblings, Russ, Chuck Westover and Evelyn Perry; and her dear friend, Peter Oak.

Mom (ma) is lovingly remembered by her children, Donna (Albert) and Dean (Sandy); her grandchildren, Matt, Jeff, Tyler and Jennifer; and great-granddaughter Claire.

Mom was born in Fort Frances on June 30, 1928 where she lived most of her life.

In 1949, Mom and Dad were married. During the next 33 years they created many happy memories with family, friends, and travel, even trying a move out to B.C. but eventually returned back to Fort Frances.

Mom had a very compassionate way about her that showed in the way she cared for her family and friends.

Mom worked for many years at Gagne's Drug Store behind the soda fountain counter, at Eatons and then at Simpson Sears.

After the passing of dad in 1982, mom occupied her time discovering many different hobbies such as needle point, paper tole, knitting, puzzles, gardening, and playing cribbage.

Visits with mom were cherished, we have fond memories of family dinners with her homemade bread and perogies as our favorites.

After 37 years, Jean is now reunited with her one and only true love, Don.

Mom is gone but her memory will never be forgotten.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Jean's memory by cheque to the Rainycrest Auxillary, c/o Northridge Funeral Home, Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0.
