Our Remembrance Day tea was a big success. President Silvia Gunderson thanked everyone for all the hard work put into the tea.
The door prize was won by Barb Cousineau while the 50/50 draw was won by Diane Taggart ($1,500).
All the tickets were sold.
Meanwhile, the colour party attended Robert Moore School and then the cenotaph for the Remembrance Day ceremonies.
An election of officers took place, with the executive for 2011 being Silvia Gunderson (president), Alfreda Easton (first vice-president), Sandra Pruys (second vice-president), Diane Taggart (secretary), Helen Pohanka (treasurer), and Mary Ducharme (past president).
Rounding out the executive will be Yvonne Chambers (Sgt.-at-Arms), Clara Stainke (publicity), Janet Lambert (entertainment), Josie Miller (social), Linda Larocque (membership), and Delores Cross (sick and visiting).
The position of ways and means has not been filled.
The names of Jan Gustafson and Joan Allison were brought forward and approved for membership, with initiation to take place in the new year.
A reminder a turkey supper with all the trimmings will be held Friday, Nov. 26 upstairs at the Legion hall starting at 5:30 p.m.
The cost is $13 per person and everyone is welcome.
Our next general meeting is set for Wednesday, Dec 8.
This is our Christmas supper meeting. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., followed by supper at 6 p.m. and then the meeting and gift exchange ($10 limit).
Supper will be pork cutlets. Yvonne has volunteered to cook the supper, with the men of the branch helping out and serving.
Also please bring along a non-perishable food item to be donated to the food bank.
