It was a day of mixed results for the Muskie court sports teams in the NorWOSSA regular-season finale against the host Dryden Eagles on Thursday.
Both senior squads finished the season undefeated and ended the year on a winning note while both junior teams suffered losses.
In boys' basketball action, the seniors finished with a perfect 9-0 and a first-place bye to the NorWOSSA final as they routed the Eagles 87-41.
Sean Huziak led the way offensively for the Muskies with a 17-point performance while Dominic States and Wyatt Richards chipped in with 14 points each.
Mike Vanderaa scored 12 points while Santino Smith and Jordon Bazylewski both notched 10 apiece.
The juniors, meanwhile, faced a tougher time and lost a 46-33 decision to the Eagles (7-2) finish the regular season in second place with a 7-2 record.
Dryden will have a first-place bye to the NorWOSSA final by virtue of winning the season series over the Muskies by a 2-1 count.
Noah McPherson and Brennan Jourdain both scored 11 points to pace the Muskies' offence in the loss on Thursday.
In girls' volleyball action, meanwhile, the seniors finished in top spot with a 9-0 record and with a bye to the NorWOSSA final in topping the Eagles 2-0. The set scores were 25-19 and 25-14. Fort High also won the third exhibition set 25-15.
But the juniors dropped a 2-1 decision to Dryden to end the regular season with three straight losses and in second place with a 4-5 record.
The set scores were 23-25, 25-15, and 15-25.
The NorWOSSA playoffs now are set for Monday, Feb. 24 at Fort High.
