Dirt riders solid in season finale


It was an impressive end to the year for local motocross racers at the Superior Dirt Riders' sixth-and-final stop in Atikokan on Saturday.

Dylan Tessier of Devlin had the best showing in topping the MX3 Beginner race while Alex Kreger of Emo was 11th.

Landon Flinders of Fort Frances took second in the 85cc age seven-11 category.

He was followed by Alex Kreger (Emo) in fourth, Kali Tessier (Devlin) in fifth, and Aiden McTavish (Devlin) in eighth.

McTavish also wound up fifth in the 65cc PeeWee age seven-11 race.

Blake Kreger of Emo was second in the 85cc age 12-16 race while also placing fourth in the Super Mini division.

Flinders wound up sixth in the Super Minis.

Brandon Croswell of Emo nabbed third in the Schoolboy division while Dylan Tessier was fourth and Cole Kreger of Emo was sixth.

Trevor Croswell of Emo was 10th in the MX3 Open race, followed by his son, Brandon, in 11th, while Cole Kreger took 14th.

He also was fourth in the Vet 40+ division while Kali Tessier finished sixth in the Ladies' division.

The Superior Dirt Riders will officially wrap the season up with its annual awards banquet on Oct. 19 at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay.
