BDO loses both games

Sam Soderman and his RRFN team continued their early-season dominance in the Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League on Tuesday night at Fort High.

Soderman’s 28 points almost accounted for half of the total in RRFN’s 57-35 victory over BDO.

Liam Metke had a great first half for BDO, netting 13 points, but only managed one basket in the second half.

Sunset Landscaping, meanwhile, rallied to edge Revco 58-55.

Josh Mastin drained a game-high 24 points, but it was “skinny Josh” (a.k.a. Josh Pawluk) who sealed the victory with two clutch free throws with less than 10 seconds to go.

Dustin Mowe, meanwhile, was a force on the boards and ended up with 20 points for Sunset.

John Sivonen responded with a game-high five “threes” for Revco but it wasn’t enough.

Getting some fresh legs for their second game of the night, BDO fought back to within single digits but just didn’t quite have enough in the tank in a 47-40 loss to Team Arctic Cat.

In a game that opened with five-straight three-pointers, it actually was the lay-ups of Kobi Ward and his team-leading 19 points that helped propel Arctic Cat to victory.

Newcomer Wally Tabash led BDO with 15 points.
