Warm welcome

Photo Album:

Elvis DeBungee, left, welcomed Turtle Sounds, right, along with his partner, Lorraine Clements, to a potluck dinner and drumming at Rainy River First Nations on Tuesday. Turtle Sounds, who started at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, is walking and dancing his way to Ottawa for the “Idle No More” Global Day of Action scheduled for Jan. 28. He is collecting messages at each of his stops from children about what they want for their future and will deliver these when he arrives in Ottawa. DeBungee, who co-ordinated the event at RRFN, offered him well wishes and prayers for a safe journey.
