Lead Andrea Schram was on target for the Muskie girls’ curling rink during Fort High’s 13-5 win over the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints (Kenora) yesterday on Day 1 of the NorWOSSA finals at the Fort Frances Curling Club. The quartet, skiped by Erin Tomalty, went 2-1 to sit second in the standings behind the Sioux Lookout Warriors (3-0). On the boys’ side, the Muskie rink led by Chris Silver was in top spot at 3-0. The top two teams in the girls’ and boys’ standings after today will advance to the NWOSSAA championships later this month. And in mixed play, the Muskie team skipped by Dawson Mihichuk went 1-2 yesterday to sit in fourth entering today’s action. There is no NWOSSAA championship in the mixed division.
