Ray Scott, right, originator of the Bassmaster tournament series in the United States, joined Phil Bangert, a 13-year veteran of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship, at the Town of Fort Frances’ booth at the Bassmasters Classic Outdoors Expo in Shreveport, La. yesterday. Scott, who travels through Fort Frances annually to fish Canadian lakes, was extremely impressed by the FFCBC and indicated he looks forward to fishing Rainy Lake in the future. The show officially opened this morning and runs through Sunday, with about 70,000 people expected to attend the tournament weigh-ins and expo over the three days. The booth will be promoting Fort Frances, Rainy River District, and Rainy Lake as a smallmouth fishing destination.
