Mackenzie Wright, right, read to Nikki Lockman at St. Michael’s School on Friday during their annual literacy event there. Students and teachers were encouraged to dress up as their favourite story book character. Following a skit performed by the teachers, classes were paired so students could read together. Parents also were invited to participate. The event was held in conjunction with the national Family Literacy Day yesterday.
