'Spring Fling' goes Saturday

The Activation Staff at Rainycrest hosted a fun volunteer luncheon in April for the many folks who volunteer their precious time to the special residents there.

The theme for the luncheon was “Las Vegas,” and the food, decorations, and fun atmosphere was a fitting thank you to all who help out!

Meanwhile, the Rainycrest Auxiliary has been busy planning its “Spring Fling,” which will be held this Saturday (May 27) from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

There will be a bake table, draws, a Lucky Lotto table, and gently-used and gift ideas, with coffee/tea and dainties provided.

Everyone is welcome, with admission being a freewill offering at the door.

The auxiliary also is planning a fun Bridge fundraiser on Sunday, June 4 at the Sister Kennedy Centre.

The start time is 1 p.m., with players asked to be there by 12:45 p.m.

A sign-up sheet is posted at the centre—come and bring a partner!

If you have questions, or if you need help finding a partner, call Bev Angus at 274-5749.

The cost is $15 each, with all proceeds going to the comfort and care of Rainycrest residents.

Donations of clothing for the Canadian Diabetes Association still are being accepted; two red bins are placed at the back of Rainycrest off Eighth Street.

You can put the bags into the bins or leave them on the ground there.

Finally, the annual residents' dinner slated for June 6 at La Place Rendez-Vous is in its planning stages.

It is always a much-awaited event as the residents look forward to dressing up and having an evening out.
