At its annual meeting held Sept. 30, the board of directors of the Riverside Foundation for Health Care appointed Delaine McLeod to the position of chair of the board.
McLeod has been on the board since 2016 and has acted as vice-chair since 2018.
McLeod replaces Bill Gushulak who served as chair for the past two years.
Gushulak has been a great asset to the Foundation and served as a strong leader during a time of transition and during a vacancy in the executive director's position.
He will remain on the board to complete another three-year term.
Meanwhile, Paul Brunetta will replace Delaine as vice-chair of the board.
Brunetta joined the board as a director last year and has been a great addition to the team.
The board also gave recognition to Deane Cunningham and June Keddie as they stepped down after serving 15 and 8 years respectively on the board.
Cunningham headed up the very successful “Just Imagine” campaign in 2006/07 to bring a CT scanner to the Rainy River District, while Keddie served as a representative for both the LVGH and Rainycrest auxiliaries.
The board announced the appointment of Tyler Couisneau to fill the vacancy left by Deane, while the LVGH Auxiliary has appointed Janet Lambert as their new representative.
Appointed for another one year term were Carlene Steiner as the Riverside Health Care board representative, Bev Langner as the Rainy River auxiliary representative and Susan Irvine as the Emo auxiliary representative.
The next event for the Foundation will be a Black & White Gala on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Copper River Inn.
Tickets are $55 each and can be purchased by calling the foundation office at 274-4803.
