Members of the Kenora OPP are investigating the death of an eight-year-old boy over the weekend at the Rushing River Provincial Park.
On Saturday around 9:45 p.m., members of the OPP responded to a missing person incident at the park.
Officers conducted a search of the park, assisted by the Emergency Response Team (ERT), K-9 unit, Rushing River Provincial Park staff, and the Kenora Marine and Trails Unit.
The boy was located deceased by OPP members on Sunday around 1:30 a.m.
A post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday and it was determined the cause of death was drowning.
Foul play is not suspected.
The deceased has been identified as Kyree Bruneau of Winnipeg.
