Burning banned in town

Be advised that the Fort Frances Fire/Rescue Service has issued a complete fire ban for the Town of Fort Frances.

All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning, backyard fire pits, or cook stoves that use solid fuels (wood or charcoal).

Burn permits also have been cancelled.

Barbecues that use propane are permitted with extreme caution.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry currently has a Restricted Fire Zone in effect for all of the Northwest Region.

The town fire ban will remain in effect until the Restricted Fire Zone from the MNRF is lifted.

For more information, contact the Fort Frances Fire/Rescue Service at 274-9841.
