Two new fires were reported yesterday in the Northwest Region—both in Fort Frances District.
Fort Frances Fire #17, located at Little Turtle Lake, was listed as “being held” at 0.5 hectares in size.
Fort Frances Fire #16, located near Sturgeon Lake, has since been declared “out” at 0.1 ha.
The forest fire hazard is “moderate” to “high” in the region, with a pocket of “low” hazard in the southeast portion.
