On Wednesday around 2:20 p.m., Rainy River District OPP officers were conducting a Festive R.I.D.E. check at the intersection of Highway 600 and 621.
After speaking with the driver of the vehicle, it was determined two occupants had outstanding warrants for arrest.
Both individuals, a 38-year-old man from Lake of the Woods Township and a 23-year-old women from Fort Frances, were arrested at the scene and taken to Fort Frances.
Both appeared in court here Dec. 1.
As well, the driver was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.
The OPP will be holding R.I.D.E. checks at all times of day across Rainy River District until Jan. 7 to make sure people aren’t driving impaired, as well as to raise awareness of the dangers of impaired driving.
