Around 8 p.m. yesterday, Rainy River District OPP officers, as well as the Emergency Medical Service and the Fort Frances and Watten Fire Departments, responded to a single-vehicle mishap on Highway 11 near the Windy Point bridge.
A tractor-trailer unit was westbound when the driver lost control.
The unit had been pulling two trailers, with the rear trailer containing tar flipping on its side.
The driver was not injured.
The highway was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
It was open to one lane as of this morning, with motorists asked to use caution while driving in the area.
The investigation is continuing.
