The Emo and District Lions Club's grocery raffle is back again this year.

With less than three weeks left, tickets are going quickly. They cost $10 each and can be purchased at Cloverleaf in Emo, from a Lions' member, or at various locations around the district.

First prize is $5,200 worth of groceries—that's an amazing $100 a week for 52 weeks. A whole year of free groceries!

Second prize is $500 worth of groceries while third prize is a $100 grocery coupon.

The additional prize of half-a-side of beef also will be drawn during Spring Fever Days in Emo (April 20-22).

Support Lions' projects in the district while purchasing a chance at winning the groceries or the side of beef.

Monies raised will go towards Lions' projects, including the completion of the observation deck at the west end of Emo, and to the Emo food bank.

“Unlawful" participants are wanted for the fifth-annual Voyageur Lions Club's "Jail or Bail” fundraiser, which is taking place Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Fort Frances Curling Club in conjunction with the Home and Business Expo.

Students, businesses, and organizations . . . your help is needed. Nominate a teacher, principal, boss, or co-worker and they will be arrested on April 22 as part of the fundraiser.

To arrange the arrest of your guilty party, call Bill Michl at 276-1334.

Mug shots of nominated assailants will be taken and posted online, along with their crime!

Your monetary donations not only help these poor saps out of the slammer but, more importantly, support local charities.
