The annual Betty Kellar Memorial cribbage and 500 card party will be held this Saturday, Jan. 11, beginning at 1 p.m. The cost is $15 per person and includes supper. People can register right up until the day of the tournament. Call the Emo Legion at 482-2250 to register. Hours are from 3-6 p.m. Teams of 2 are preferred. This tournament always proves to be a fun filled day, paying tribute to a great lady. Betty was an avid card and cribbage player for many years. Her love of the game lives through the lives of her children and grandchildren. This compassion will be felt during this memorial event.
Tuesday night Bingo has started up at the Emo Legion, as has Thursday carpet bowling for Seniors. Also the Friday night “beer and burger” for $5 has resumed.
Our community and the entire district sends “continued" recovery to Freeda Carmody. Freeda had been in Riverside Hospital over much of the holidays, then was transferred to Thunder Bay where she underwent a procedure. The procedure caused great results in Freeda's health. She has been released from hospital and spending time with Penney (and her family) in Dryden. Anyone who "knows" Freeda will expect her to be "up and at it” as soon as possible!
In general... I don't believe in child labour. But sometimes they're the only ones who can figure out what's wrong with my computer or cell phone!
