Stock car racing action goes Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Emo Speedway, with hot laps at 6 p.m. and the first heat at 6:30 each day. It will be “Fan Appreciation Night.” Admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students/seniors, with those nine and under being free.
The next “Open Air Art Studio,” presented by Community Living Fort Frances and District, will be held Monday, Aug. 26 from 3-5:30 p.m. at Legion Park. The theme will be potato stamping and leaf printing. The session is free, and all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

A benefit dinner will be held for Leeann Johnson-Mainville on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 3-6 p.m. at the Couchiching Multi Use Facility. She had back surgery in Germany and experienced complications, resulting in huge, unexpected expenses. A lasagna dinner will be served and there will be a penny table with tons of great prizes.
