Nuinsco completes airborne survey

Nuinsco Resources Ltd. chairman and CEO Douglas Hume was in the area last week to oversee airborne mineral surveys carried out by helicopter over Richardson township–the results of which won’t be known for about three weeks.
Residents in the Emo and Barwick area probably spotted the survey helicopter, flying with a large donut-like contraption on a dangling cable.
“It’s a geo-physical system that gave us two aspects–a magnetic study and an electromagnetic survey,” Hume explained Monday from Nuinsco’s head office in Toronto.
“The purpose was to see if there are any developments, any targets to follow up on [but] results of those surveys have to be analyzed and studied by experts,” he added.
A similar study was done by Nuinsco a few years ago by plane.
“[The helicopter] can fly lower and slower and give better definition,” said Hume. “We’ll compare it to the [previous] airborne survey,” he noted.
Ground exploration studies are not being conducted on Nuinsco’s property in Richardson Township until the results of the recent geo-physical survey is completed. The area is being supported on care and maintenance basis.
