Cadets, which is being held at the Christian Reformed Church in Emo, is a club for boys aged nine-15 (as of the end of December).
Through Cadets, the boys will be involved in activities such as exploring, merit badges, projects, camp, Bible Studies, meeting new friends, and much more. Meetings are bi-weekly starting next Wednesday (Oct. 15) from 7-9 p.m.
The cost of registration is $50, which includes a uniform, Guide Book, and a subscription to the club magazine.

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary will be holding its annual fall tea and bazaar on Friday, Oct. 17 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
Admission is $2, and any baking would be greatly appreciated.
Come out, visit with friends, and enjoy the tea and bake sale. The auxiliary deeply appreciates all the support it has received over the years.

Men’s weekly basketball is starting up again on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 8-9:30 p.m. at Donald Young School here in Emo.

Attention all district cattlemen! Interested in improving your profitability and sustainability? Then mark your calendar for Friday, Oct. 17 when Neil Dennis, a Saskatchewan grazing mentor, gives a presentation on rotational grazing systems (he is a man who has grasped the importance of high stock density).
The presentation will run from 7-9:30 p.m. the Barwick Hall. Refreshments will be served.
If you are interested in having an on-farm consultation with Dennis during the day on Friday or Saturday, contact Jeff Hyatt with the Rainy River Cattleman’s Association to book a time slot (482-2354).
The fee for the consultation will be in the $100-$300 price range.

The Emo Public Library has scheduled an official cake and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its new automated system for Friday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m.
