Local driver nabbed

Just after 4 a.m. today, the Rainy River District OPP received a complaint about a motor vehicle in Fort Frances.

Officers located the vehicle on the 900 block of King's Highway.

The driver, a 25-year-old Fort Frances male, was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment for breath tests.

Death being probed

The OPP has been requested to assist the Nishnawbe-Aski Nation Police Service in relation to an occurrence on the Sandy Lake First Nation.

At around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service responded to a call regarding a male in need of assistance outside a residence on River Road.

Police responded and located a male in the ditch.

Three stunt drivers charged

Three people are facing stunt driving charges after being stopped by the OPP near Marathon on Saturday.

Around 12:30 a.m., the OPP observed a GMC truck speeding on Highway 17 in Lecour Township.

An officer operating radar determined the truck was travelling 145 km/h in the 90 km/h zone.

A 31-year-old male from Stoney Creek, Ont. was charged.

Federal inmate on loose

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as result of being unlawfully at large.

James Druce is described as an Caucasian male, age 51, standing six feet tall (183 cms) and weighing 186 pounds (84 kg).
