Nate Anderson and Benjamin Briere did their best to navigate the “frozen waters" while program assistant Rachel Ste. Croix looked on during their "Rainy Lake Anglers" routine that was part of the Northern Lights School of Skating's inaugural exhibition, entitled "True North," which was held Saturday afternoon at "The Duke” (Couchiching Arena).

Jeff Campbell of the BDO Ballerz looked to drive towards the net while his teammate set a pick during the second half of his squad's 48-35 win over Sunset Landscaping in the Fort Frances Men's Baksetball League's second semi-final game last Tuesday night at Fort High.

Dryden GM Ice Dogs' captain Trey Palermo stumbled over Fort Frances Lakers' goalie Jacob Gnidziejko's pad during the second period of his squad's 6-2 win in Game 3 of their best-of-five quarter-final playoff series Friday night at the Ice For Kids Arena. Palermo notched an assist to help his fourth-place Ice Dogs sweep the fifth-place Lakers.

Kerwin Klywak of J&M Judo (Kenora) perfectly executed a takedown of Morgan Good-Thurber of the Borderland Judo Club during their match at the club's fourth-annual shiai held Saturday afternoon at the Couchiching multi-use facility. Judo clubs from across Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and the U.S.

Skating show

The group of Adalynn Seguin, Aubrey Johnson, Bryden Strachan, Emilie Jewell, Grayson Wright, Leslie Anderson, Lila Black, Payton Idrissou, and Tayah Cumming performed beautifully to the theme of “Emo Speedway Racers" during the Northern Lights School of Skating's inaugural skating exhibition, entitled "True North," on Saturday afternoon at "The Duke” (Couchiching Arena).

Judo meet

It was a great day for all the judoka who competed at the Borderland Judo Club's fourth-annual shiai held Saturday at the Couchiching multi-use facility. Judo clubs from across Northwestern Ontario, Manitoba, and the U.S. competed at the event and put their skills to the test. Divisions included U10, U12, U14, U21, and 21-and-over.
