Basement cam connects 'Today' show's Savannah Guthrie

NEW YORK—Working at home on Wednesday was a little more involved than a laptop and cellphone for “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie.

Feeling too sick to come to NBC's Manhattan headquarters yet well enough to work, she had a makeshift studio set up in the basement of her suburban New York home and co-anchored the network morning show remotely with Hoda Kotb.

'Jeopardy!' star Holzhauer's fate revealed

NEW YORK—James Holzhauer, the trivia whiz who dominated “Jeopardy!” this spring, isn't invincible after all.

The game show's 32-time champion lost for the first time in an episode that aired yesterday, falling short of records for total winnings and longest reign, but still making an argument that he's the best to ever play television's most popular game.

Lauer vowing to repair damage

NEW YORK—Former “Today” show host Matt Lauer, fired for sexual misconduct, said today that repairing the damage he has caused is now his full-time job.

Lauer's first public response to his firing was read by his former co-host, Savannah Guthrie, on the show where he had worked since 1994 before being fired Tuesday night.

His downfall was the broadcast's lead story.
