About 1,000 patients in hospital halls: report

TORONTO—On any given day, at least 1,000 people are being treated in Ontario hospital hallways, according to the special adviser on health care, who says “tough decisions” will be required to fix the problem.

The first report from Dr. Rueben Devlin and the premier's council on improving health care says hallway medicine is a significant problem in Ontario.

Liberal wants end to old leadership process

TORONTO—As Ontario's Liberals regroup following their electoral drubbing last June, one of the few remaining elected members wants to give more people a say in how their next leader is chosen.

Mitzie Hunter will call on the party at its annual general meeting this June to do away with delegated conventions and move to a one-member, one-vote system.
