Down-home music

To Be Determined Theatre Co. delighted a packed house at the Townshend Theatre last Tuesday evening with their performance of “The Wonderful World of Miss Jiggs," bringing to life Phoebe Gilman's most famous "Jillian Jiggs” stories. The play was the final show in the Kids & Company entertainment series for 2017-18, with information on its 2018-19 shows to be coming soon.

Gender identity

Rainy River District School Board students in Grades 4-8 attended Roseneath Theatre's presentation of “Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls” at the Townshend Theatre last Wednesday. The touring production aimed to educate students about gender identity, diversity, and equality.

Holding hands

Mackinnley McCormick, Marley Wrolstad, Mya McFarling, Emma Rea Pattison, and Bria McFarling were all birds of a feather while holding hands in performing to the “Rio" movie theme during the Border Skating Club's annual ice show, this year entitled "A Netflix Night,” held Saturday night and again Sunday afternoon at the Ice For Kids Arena. Itsy bitsy bikinis

'Welcome Home'

The “Welcome Home" Fort Frances Family Centre is now open at 272 Scott St. (the old Bonnie Blue). The former Fort Frances Women's Centre moved over the weekend and re-opened its doors there as of Monday. The more downtown location provides ample room for drop-in centre services and programming, as well as "Melinda's Unique Boutique" and local vendors located there.
