Jodi Caul Pellerin, president of the Emo and District Lions Club, served juice, coffee, and tea to the residents of the Golden Age Manor at their Christmas supper on Saturday evening. The meal of turkey, ham, and all the fixings, which was hosted be the club, was enjoyed by all those in attendance.

Morson resident Calvin Bombay and his wife, Gloria Tuesday, showed off Bombay's creation, “Koolar the Snowman," on Sunday. Standing at 11', 10" in height, the snowman, which can be seen clearly from Highway 621, has drawn a fair amount of attention and a photo of "Koolar" even appears on The Weather Network's website. Bombay said he built "Koolar" for the kids as well as to get the exercise.
The “Hallett Hall Choraliers" performed for fellow residents, family, and friends last Wednesday afternoon in Hallett Hall at Rainycrest Long-term Care. Under the direction of Diane Maxey, the group had been practising once a week for six weeks to get ready for the concert. They sang nine holiday tunes while soloist Bernie Gagne sang "Silent Night” in French.
Jacob Gustafson gave his fellow students an inside look at cellphones with his display during the Fort High co-op display day last Wednesday in the high school cafeteria. Gustafson has been working at Sight & Sound this semester, where he is gaining experience repairing cellphones and other electronics for customers.
Co-owner Hannah Mueller stood at the counter ready to greet customers at the newly-opened Westside Bait & Tackle on Monday morning. The store, which Mueller co-owns with her father, Bill, held its grand opening Saturday at its location on Highway 11/71 just west of town.

Senior Muskie Austin Brown (55) stood his ground defensively during the third quarter of his team's 56-55 win over the visiting Kenora Broncos on Thursday afternoon in the Fort High gym. Kobi Ward led the black-and-gold offensively with 22 points while Aaron Bujold had 19. With the win, the squad improved to 2-1 in NorWOSSA play so far this season.
Junior Muskie Katrina Slomke (11) spiked the ball against the Kenora Broncos in her team's straight-sets victory (25-7, 25-7, and 25-11) last Thursday afternoon at Fort High. The squad remains unbeaten in league play at 3-0 heading into its match tomorrow against the host Dryden Eagles.
