William Russell Bennett passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998 in his 78th year.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth; loving father of Frederick and his wife, Betty, William and his wife, Pamela, and Cathy Mazurkiewicz and her husband, Eugene; and grandfather of Amy, David, Jennifer, Holly, Frances, Alexander, and Michael.

He is also survived by two sisters, Beatrice and Joan.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Reginald and Joseph.

During WWII, Mr. Bennett served as a navigator in the R.C.A.F. in the European theatre of operations, being discharged with the rank of Flight Lieutenant and receiving the D.F.C.

Following graduation as a chemical engineer from the University of Toronto, he spent virtually his entire career in the pulp and paper industry in Fort Frances, Ont., retiring as the technical director of the then Boise Cascade mill in that community.

An avid outdoorsman, he continued to follow his hobbies of hunting and fishing in his retirement.
