WILLIAM JOHN 'HOOKER' TRYHUK

Bill Tryhuk passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at LaVerendrye Hospital.

He was born Dec. 24, 1943 to Effie (Basaraba) and Peter Tryhuk.

After graduating from Fort Frances High School, Bill was employed by the Minnesota/Ontario Paper Mill as an oiler until his retirement from Resolute in 2001.

In his younger years, Bill liked to travel and go on cruises. Bill enjoyed some duck hunting but he was an ardent fisherman.

The minute the sun shone, Bill would load up his boat and head out on the lake for the day.

Health issues curtailed Bill's physical activities, although he could always be seen around town on his trusty scooter, visiting, shopping and attending bingo at the VFW. Bill always prided himself in his independence.

Bill is predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by special friends, Ralph and Cheryle Wolff and family, and dear cousins, Marcia Zeleny, Angela Siemens, Michael Mihichuk, Tony King, David King and their families. He has many other cousins as well as friends at Flinders Place where he resided.

Cremation has taken place and Bill will be interred with his parents at Riverview Cemetery on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11 a.m. Following interment, lunch and fellowship will take place in the common room at Flinders Place.

May he rest in peace.
