WILLIAM CHOWAN

William Chowan, 92, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children.
He was born Feb. 12, 1913 in Willowbrook, Sask.
On May 1, 1934, William was united in marriage to Blanche Coran. He retired in 1978 from Boise Cascade after 49 years of service as a mechanic.
He loved fishing, hunting, travelling, dancing, spending time with his wife and family, and, in later years, he enjoyed outings to the grocery store with his daughter.
He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Chowhan; mother, Mary Zazulka; brother, John Chowhan; sisters, Pauline, Barbara, and Pearl; son-in-laws, David Frank and Bob Oustad; and great-grandchild, Ryan Thomas Rapaway.
William is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Blanche Chowan; son, Donald (Sally) Chowan, and daughters, Clara (Tom) Hardy, Linda Oustad, Jean (Gerry) Madsen, and Carol (Chuck) Lepper, all of International Falls, Mn.; grandchildren, Toni (Bob) Rapaway, Tom (Leann) Hardy, Deb (Russ) Spry, Todd Chowan, Scott (Colleen) Chowan, Nikki (Chad) Rebischke, Tiffany Lepper, and Tracey (Justin) Tierney; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and sister, Anne Marrs of Fort Frances, Ont.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls.
Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
