It is with great sadness that the family of Wilfred Caul announces his passing on Sunday, May 21, 2017 in the comfort of his home in Devlin, Ont.
Born on July 15, 1931 in Pinewood, Ont., he was one of 13 children of Lorne and Mary Caul.
Wilfred married Lois Cooke on Aug. 10, 1956 and had one son, Keith.
Wilfred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois; son, Keith and wife, Jodi; grandchildren Kayla (Rey), Mackenzie, and Riley (Crystal); and great-grandsons, Rustin and Ryker.
He also is survived by his brother, Austin Caul (Bev) and sister, May Marsh; as well as sister-in-law, Faye Davis, and brother-in-law, Dave Cooke (Clareen).
He was predeceased by his father and mother; six brothers, Clarence, Roy, Kenneth, Milton, Mervyn, and Ray; and four sisters, Myrtle, Lena, Lorna, and Hazel.
Wilfred worked for the Department of Highways for 32 years, but his true passion was farming. Even after Wilfred retired, he continued to farm until he became ill in the fall of 2016.
Wilfred’s greatest joys were spending time with his family and friends; and he surely will be missed by everyone who loved him.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment followed in the Devlin Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Mark Davis, Todd McLean, Rod Davis, Doug Caul, Jim Caul, and Les Caul.
The honourary pallbearers were Wayne Meyers, Bill McLean, Terry Mann, Neil Grant, Dave Cooke, and Austin Caul.
