Sadly, the family announces the passing of Violet Ruth Tibbs, 84, of Emo, Ont. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 at La Verendrye Hospital.
Violet was born on April 17, 1935 in Loon Lake, Sask. to parents, Annie (Humphries) and Gordon McKinnon. She was united in marriage to Lyle Tibbs on Nov. 25, 1952.
She will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Gail Thompson of Emo, Gladys (John) Enns of Barwick, Gerald Tibbs of Emo, Glen (Wendy) Tibbs of Dryden, Gloria Tibbs of Emo, and Joyce (Greg) Maki of Pinewood; and her 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Violet is also survived by her sister, May Tarasoff; her brother, George (Sandy) Stewart; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Stewart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Violet was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Gordon; her husband, Lyle; her brother, Bob; and her sisters, Alice, Eva and Gladys.
A service of celebration and remembrance was held on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Northridge Funeral Home in Emo with Les Abbott officiating.
Interment took place in Emo Cemetery.
