It is with profound sorrow that the family of Trevor Allan Johnson announces his passing on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 at Grassy Lake, Ont.
Trevor was born on Jan. 17, 1985 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Steve Spencer and Susan Johnson.
He grew up in Seine River First Nation, attending school in Mine Centre and then graduating from Fort Frances High School.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, and watching documentaries, and he taught himself to play guitar. He also valued his cultural heritage and followed many of the traditional ways.
He leaves behind his parents, Steve and Susan; and siblings, Dennis Johnson and his daughter, Lannie, Tamara Johnson (David) and her children, Kaylee, Kiersten, and Bryanna, and Caitlin Johnson (Gerald Jr.) and their son, Tristan.
He also is survived by his grandmother, Virginia Kabatay; aunts and uncles, Glen Johnson, Gerald Johnson (Veronica), Jeff Johnson (Janet), Jason Kabatay (Tania), George Spencer (Agnes), and Dave Spencer; and great-aunt, Agnes Kabatay.
He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Trevor was predeceased by his grandparents, Rose and Jack Spencer, and Tony Kabatay and Ben Kabatay; aunts, Rosie Spencer and Hilda Yerxa; and uncles, Robert Spencer, Anthony Kabatay, and Norman Kabatay.
A traditional wake was held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Seine River First Nation Gymnasium.
A traditional service was held on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Seine River First Nation Gymnasium, with Elder Ken Kakeeway officiating.
