SANDRA LOUISE NEILSON

Neilson, Sandy

It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Louise Neilson announces her passing on June 27, 2018 at the Riverside Health Care Facility in Fort Frances, Ont., due to cervical cancer, at the young age of 63.
Ebony Stilborn was at her side when she peacefully passed.
Born Janice Ruth on Jan. 15, 1955 in Fort Frances, Sandy was adopted to Moie and Marjorie Neilson at five months old. She and brother, Kurt Neilson, grew up on the farm north of Stratton.
Sandy spent most of her adult life in Regina, Sask. She worked at a recycling plant and then owned a silver and brass polishing business. Sandy had to undergo back surgery and thus made it impossible to work later in life.
Sandy endured a lot of hardships in her life but always was able to find the humour in situations. She was able to find the light in the darkest of places.
She was very kind and caring, always helping people with what she could.
Sandy was predeceased by her mother, Marjorie.
She is survived by her father, Moie; brother, Kurt (Terrie); son, Mike Waugh; Ebony (Jerry) Stilborn; and grandchildren, Justus, Tylan, Neytiri, and Ember.
Also surviving is her brother, Allan McDowell; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
At her request, a private ceremony will take place and her ashes will be buried in the family plot at the North Branch Cemetery at a later date.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations can be made to the Salvation Army c/o Northridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 89, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0.
Rest in peace, Sandy!
