Rose May Bolzan, 96, of Fort Frances, Ont. passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at her home.
She was born on June 19, 1922 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Paul and Anna Arseneault.
She was united in marriage to Joe Bolzan on Nov. 29, 1941.
While raising her three children she was also very active in her community. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church, the Catholic Women's League, Italian Ladies Club, La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary and a Birthday Blub.
Rose's most favourite pastime was knitting. All her children and grandchildren looked forward to Christmas to see what wonderful things she had knit for them.
One of Rose's most favourite things was spending time with her family and relatives at the cabin on Rainy Lake. Many great memories were made there.
She leaves behind her son Joe and his wife, Joan Bolzan, and their children, Marty, Monte (Marah), and Melissa (Rob); daughter, Terry, and her husband, Sterling Miller, and their children, Matthew and Sarah (Dylan); and daughter, Shelley and her husband, Pat Allen; her sister, Darlene (Louie) King; as well as five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Katelin, Kassidy, Tessa and Nixon.
Rose was predeceased by her husband, Joe; grandson, Garrick; parents, Paul and Anna; brother, Yves; and sister, Adora.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home. Parish Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Fort Frances, Ont.
The pallbearers will be Marty Bolzan, Melissa Gurniak, Monte Bolzan, Jacob Bolzan, Matthew Miller and Sarah Miller.
