Sadly, the family announces the passing of Rose Chabot, 73, of Emo, Ont., on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 at the Emo Health Centre.
Rose was born in Fort Frances, Ont.
Rose was united in marriage to Sydney Darrah and together they raised their family on a farm north of Devlin, Ont. Rose enjoyed the farm life, along with gardening, fishing, and her many crafts.
In addition to working on the farm, Rose began working in the kitchen at Rainycrest and continued working there for many years.
Later in life, Rose and Sydney parted and with declining health, she moved to Kenora, Ont. before relocating to long-term care at the Emo Health Centre.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Marvis (Dianne) Darrah of Barwick, Ont. and Eden (Jolene) Darrah of Kitchener, Ont.; grandchildren, Dexter (Ryan), Nathan (Jenifer), Larissa (Adam), Shy Leigh, Shy Anna, Daniel (Kayla), Rio, Ab, and Cole; and great-grandchildren, Landin and Gavin.
Rose also is survived by her siblings, Cyril Chabot, Robert (Julia) Chabot, and Paul (Roberta) Chabot; sisters-in-law, Lois Auger and Delores Chabot; former spouse, Sydney Darrah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Helene Chabot; children, Dodie, Albert, and Tangeline; siblings, Fernand (Anna Belle) Chabot, Marcel Chabot, Emile Chabot, Arthur Chabot, Theresa (Bob) Wood, Cecile (Jim) Abbott and second husband (Don) Asselin, Blanche (Bob) Jackway and second husband (Dave) Edgar, and Rosaline Chabot; and sister-in-law, Nonie Chabot.
A service of celebration will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, with Greg Scott officiating.
Interment will take place in the Devlin Cemetery at a later date.
