Sadly, the family announces the passing of Roberta Maureen Chabot, 65, of Fort Frances, Ont., on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
Roberta was born on May 22, 1953 in Fort Frances to Maurice and Mabel Dolph.
She was united in marriage to Paul Chabot on May 10, 1980 in Fort Frances.
Roberta enjoyed volunteering her time with the Youth Bowling Council (YBC), Club 55+, and the summer/winter games at the Sister Kennedy Centre. She also liked doing puzzles, crocheting, sewing, and bringing her great-granddaughter, Maddie, to the library for Wednesday Storytime.
She also loved yelling at the TV when she watched her favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, or curling but her biggest passion was her garden and flowers. She also loved to press her luck at Bingo hoping to win big.
She has been an active member of the Northern Ontario Masters bowling association from 1980 until 2016. Five-pin bowling has been part of her life and that's where she met the love of her life, Paul Chabot.
She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends, and all the bowling community.
Roberta will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Paul; children, Bob (Diana) of Thunder Bay, Ont., Jeanie of Fort Frances, Ont., and Tim (Thrisha) of Fort Frances, Ont.; grandchildren, Josh (Kate), Natasha (Nathan), Cayman (Bailey), Caitlyn (Dallas), Amber (Ryan), Daffni, and Aili; and her great-granddaughters, Maddie and one expecting in December.
Roberta also is survived by her siblings, Darlene (Reg), Walter (Diane), Teresa, and Don (Kathy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Mabel Dolph; brother, Monro Plumridge; sister, Nancy Sharbot; grandparents, Cecil and Mary Dolph and Arthur and Elizabeth Plumridge; and in-laws, Albert Chabot and Helene Dunbar.
A service of celebration and remembrance will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances.
