RAYMOND VEILLIEUX

Sadly, Raymond Veillieux, 83, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

Ray was born on Nov. 7, 1933 in Fort France to Edmond and Florence Veillieux.

Ray worked for Rainycrest in long-term care, the Fort Frances Parks Board, and several local tourist camps as a guide and carpenter before retiring.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He was known to volunteer much of his time to help the elderly and persons with disabilities.

He also had a love for animals and gave them a special home.

Ray is survived by his children, Charmaine Botelho, Alethea Blake, Ramond Bezine, Derek (Judith) Veillieux, Kevin (Brenda) Veillieux, and Justin Veillieux; and numerous grandchildren.

He also is survived by his sister, Larrayne Muloin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Florence; and sisters, Arylene (Alphonso) Du Tillio, Catherine (Helmer) Bergland, and Lois (Dennis) Dalseg.

As per Ray’s request, cremation will take place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date.
