Peter William Senyk passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by those who loved him, on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017.
Peter was born on June 11, 1954 to the late Erma and Anthony Senyk of Rainy River, Ont.
Peter moved to Atikokan, Ont. shortly after his birth and later on to Thunder Bay, Ont., where he lived at the Westmount Hogarth Centre for the Developmentally Challenged.
It was in 1993 where Peter found his forever home when he joined the Community Living family and moved into his apartment supported by Community Living in Fort Frances, Ont.
Peter faced many challenges but he never lost his kind spirit nor his desire to participate in life. He loved flowers and being outside enjoying nature.
Peter was a very sociable man and even though he may have had difficulties communicating verbally, he sure knew how to get his point across and always could be counted on to bring a smile to everyone's face.
He enjoyed music and any gatherings with friends, and he sure did enjoy his coffee out with “the crew.”
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Erma and Anthony Senyk; as well as by his brother, Anthony Jr.
He will be greatly missed by his sister, Ella Mae McCollom of Kelowna, B.C.; all of his friends; and by all the great direct support professionals who had the privilege to work with Peter at Community Living.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at 3 p.m. at 145 Hudson Dr. in Fort Frances.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to CLFFD—in memory of Peter Senyk.
He had a nature you could not help loving
And a heart that was purer than gold
And to those who knew him and loved him
His memory will never grow cold.
