It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Joseph Horsman. He passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Peter leaves to mourn the love of his life, Marilyn Horsman; his sons, Rod Horsman, and Bill Horsman (Cindy); his daughter, Rhonda Horsman (Chris); his grandchildren, Devon Horsman (Ashley) and Scott Williams; as well as his great-grandchildren, Junuh, Callum and Jasper.
He's also survived by his siblings, George Horsman (Lila), John Horsman, Helen Horsman and Ellery Horsman, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, George Horsman and Rosanna Horsman (Dubois); his uncle, Pierre Dubois; and his aunts, Marie Oudotte and Matilda Dubois.
On July 29, 1945, Peter was born in Kenora, Ont. He was raised in Sioux Narrows. During his younger years, he spent his time working with the MNR doing tower watch. He later returned to Kenora to pursue a career with the Kenora Police Services. He then moved on from the Kenora Police Services to the Ministry of Transportation as an enforcement officer.
After retirement, Peter enjoyed shuttling CN crews around Ontario with Pokey's Vans and then later with North Air Taxi.
Peter loved being with his family; he especially loved to get on Junuh's nerves. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, taking his family out in the boat, crossword puzzles and the cheering on the Leafs and Blue Jays.
He will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Visitation took place at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. Cremation will be taking place and he will be buried later.
