ORVAL GRANT JOSEPH KELLY (Oozaii magakii-gaa niigaa nabit)

Orval peacefully passed on to the spirit world early at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

He was predeceased by great-grandmother, Rosie Madden; mother, Virgina Kelly (nee Blackburde); father, Patrick Kelly Sr.; grandparents, Gilbert and Charlotte Blackburde (nee Mainville), and Alex and Marjorie Kelly (nee Madden); sister, Janice Blackburde and brothers, Murray and Rocky Kelly; niece, Jocelyn Kelly Duck; and great-uncle, John Madden, who raised Orval.

We, as his family, will greatly miss his presence but we all know he is in a far better place, with no more suffering.

Orval was a very polite and caring gentleman. He was well-known and very much-liked in the community.

Orval will continue to do the best of his work in the spirit world.

Orval is survived by his brother, Patrick Kelly (Lois); sisters, Ronalda Kelly, Brenda Kelly (Lawrence Kelly Sr.), and Carol Kelly (Clifton); daughter, Stephannie Markwich and grandson, Gabriel Markwich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews too many to mention.

A traditional wake was held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation Gymnasium.

A traditional service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation Gymnasium, with Elder Ron Indian-Mandamin officiating.

The pallbearers will be Patrick Scott Kelly, Joe Letander, Brian Indian, Cecil Copenace, Kurt Copenace, and Lawrence Kelly Jr.
