MERVYN JOSEPH ALBERT

Mervyn Joseph Albert, 80, of Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at his residence on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.
Mervyn was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Trout Creek in the District of Parry Sound, Ont. to the late Peter and Hilda Albert. He moved to Emo, Ont. with his family in 1932, and spent many years there before moving to Fort Frances.
He had worked for the MTO in Emo for several years and was a member of the Manitou Masonic Lodge #631 in Emo.
He also was a lay minister and sang in the church choir at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo, was an avid curler, delivered Meals on Wheels in the district, and was a Scout leader several years ago.
He was helpful to everyone and never expected anything in return.
He is survived by his nephews, Leonard (Charlotte) Haines of Saskatoon, Sask. and Lyall (Debbie) Haines of Kelowna, B.C.; nieces, Nadine (Steven) Donaldson of Denfield, Ont., Lisa (Brian) MacGillivray of Elie, Man., Jenny Willman of Winnipeg, Man., and Tracy (Peter) Leclerc of Richer, Man.; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Alice Hilda Albert; sisters, Helen Kominowski and Dorothy Haines; and brother, Jack.
A celebration of Mervyn’s life will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church in Emo, with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
Interment will take place in the Emo Cemetery in Emo.
