MARGUERITE MARY LANGSTAFF

Marguerite Mary Langstaff, 90, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005 peacefully at Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances.
Marguerite was born March 27, 1915 in Canyon, District of Kenora, Ont., to the late Albert and Florence Lavigne. She was a long-time resident of Fort Frances, having lived here since 1925.
She had attended school on Sioux Lookout, Ont.
Marguerite enjoyed many home activities, like crocheting, sewing, knitting, and gardening. Always, though, her family came first and she would make wonderful meals for us.
She and her husband, Edmond, were able to enjoy trips abroad, for which they had fond memories and fun with their friends. She also was a past member of the Eastern Star, La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary, Knox United Church, and United Church Women.
Marguerite is survived by her children, Ann McLeod, Lloyd Langstaff, Colleen (Donald) MacEachern, and Patricia Dittaro, all of Fort Frances, Ont.
Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Donna (Robert) Yaciuk, of Thunder Bay, Ont., Darren McLeod of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Murray (Michelle) McLeod of Surrey, B.C.; Geoff MacEachern of Fort Frances, Ont., Shannon (Hanz) Shumacher of Minneapolis, Mn., Tara MacEachern of Fort Frances, Ont., Jennifer Dittaro of Winnipeg, Man., Christopher (Billi-Jo) Dittaro of Fort Frances, Ont., and Brad (Kerri) Dittaro of Fort Frances, Ont.; one sister, Vina (Henry) Berg of Atikokan, Ont.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was united in marriage May 7, 1939 to Edmond Ashburn (Ed) Langstaff, who predeceased her on Jan. 20, 1979.
She also was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Florence Lavigne; and siblings, Camillie Lavigne, Arnold Lavigne, Della DeGagne, Marcelle Lavigne, Gladys Lavigne, and Edward Lavigne.
A funeral service to celebrate Marguerite’s life will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Rainycrest Chaplain John Chornabay will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
The pallbearers will be Darren McLeod, Robert Yaciuk, Geoff MacEachern, Christopher Dittaro, Bradley Dittaro, and Murray McLeod.
The honourary pallbearers will be other members of her family and friends.
