MARGARET JEANETTE NELSON

Nelson, Margaret

Margaret Jeanette Nelson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 at Princess Court Long-Term Care in Dryden, Ont.
Margaret was born in Gravelbourg, Sask. on Feb. 10, 1918 to Frances and Elias McFee. As a young child, they moved to Miscampbell, Ont., where she grew up.
Mom lived her life by honesty, hard work, and simple pleasures. She never let a favour go unpaid.
After Mom and Dad were married, they moved to Burriss, Ont. and built their home on the farm. Farm life was toilsome but provided for the family.
Mom and Dad enjoyed square dancing, fiddle contests, and travelled coast to coast. Mom also did gardening, sewing, and all types of crafts.
After Dad died, Mom moved to Fort Frances, Ont. Playing games at the Sister Kennedy Centre and gambling were her pleasures.
In 2006, Mom moved to Dryden, where she continued to play cards and Scrabble. In 2015, she moved to Princess Court and Bingo was the highlight. Family visits also brought her joy.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Sharon Rausch, and grandson, Marcel Zenari, and Wendy (Rune) Stark, and grandchildren, Calista (Jim) Livingston and great-grandchildren, Fynn, Jett, and Tyne, Tony (Jeanette) Stark, and Jordan (Amber) Stark, and great-grandson, Kolby.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Ed; her parents, brothers, Vaughn, Ralph, and Don McFee; and sister, Ena McAughren.
A private memorial will be held at a later date, with interment in the Burriss Cemetery.
