It is with great sadness that the family of Josie Jourdain announces her passing on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care Home in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born on July 18, 1949 in Fort Frances to Norman and Stella Bruyere.
She worked at various tourist camps throughout the years.
Josie was united in marriage to Riley Jourdain on Aug. 5, 1971 and they settled in Thunder Bay, Ont. to raise their family.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to music, and spending time with her family during the holidays. Josie never missed coming home for Christmas.
She moved back to Fort Frances a few years after Riley passed away, to be closer to family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Josie leaves behind her children, Marty, Leela, and Jon Jourdain and Cherish Machendagose; several grandchildren; siblings, Dennis (Roberta), Tom (Colleen), Melody, Bradley, and Norman Jr.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Stella; husband, Riley; and siblings, Sylvia and Norman Jr.
A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at 7 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
The rosary will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Couchiching First Nation.
