JOSEPHINE BRUYERE

It is with deep sorrow, the family of Josephine Bruyere announces that our Heavenly Father, called our Mother home to his Eternal Kingdom.

She passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at the age of 92 with her family at her side.

Josephine was born on Dec. 31, 1927 in Fort Frances, ON to Sam and Maggie Jourdain. She lived in Couchiching First Nation all her life until her failing health forced her to move to Rainycrest in 2019. She loved the community and enjoyed returning home frequently with her children.

She loved to spend time with her family, visiting over meals and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Josephine had a deep faith and was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Catholic Women's League.

Joey was predeceased by her parents, Sam and Maggie Jourdain; her husband Raymond “Duke" Bruyere; son Jeffrey Bruyere; grandchildren Terry "Zee” Adams and Kayla Lynn Bruyere; and siblings Russell, Riley, Linda and William.

She is survived by her sons David (Laura) Bruyere and Kirk Bruyere; daughters Monica (Marty) Morrisseau, Gail Devall, Debbie Adams, Cindy (John) Bruyere; grandchildren Lori (Dave), Rich, Laureen (Jason), Trisha (Jake), Jesse, Leah, Ryan (Tricia), Jen and Johnathon; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as siblings Judy, Verna, Raymond and Glen as well as many nieces and nephews.

Josephine's funeral will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date.

The honourary pallbearers will be Joey's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 209 Victoria Avenue, Fort Frances, ON, P9A 2B7.
